Two hand forged sterling silver bangles with a silver St Cuthbert bead.

St Cuthbert beads are the tiny fragments of fossilised crinoid stems - a marine echinoderm which lived in the shallow waters around Holy Island about 300 million years ago.

Known locally as Cuddy’s beads, in medieval Northumberland they were strung together as necklaces or rosaries, and became associated with St Cuthbert.

This sterling silver version has been cast from an original bead and retains all of the intricate detail.
